Brandon bought the present and left 2027 at checkout
Brandon completed his second major win-now purchase in five days on September 4, sending Rome Odunze and his own 2027 third to Wesley for A.J. Brown. Brown joins Drake London and Chris Olave at receiver, with Mike Evans, Jauan Jennings, Josh Downs and Rashid Shaheed behind them. Christian McCaffrey, acquired August 30 for Brian Thomas Jr. and Brandon's 2027 first, now shares a backfield with De'Von Achane, Chuba Hubbard and Tony Pollard. Skip's Picks did not improve by half-measures.
The invoice is equally direct. Brandon moved his 2027 first for McCaffrey, his second in an earlier deal, and now his third for Brown. He owns no selection in the 2027 rookie draft. Odunze and Thomas—his two best young receivers—left within ten days. The immediate lineup is stronger and older, the escape routes are fewer, and the Retooling label is beginning to look like paperwork nobody bothered to update. Brandon has purchased Sundays. Future Brandon may contact customer service.
Wesley built an eight-pick escape hatch
Wesley used the same September 4 processing window to finish two timeline trades. A.J. Brown became Rome Odunze and Brandon's 2027 third. Jared Goff became C.J. Stroud and Jason's 2027 second. Two players aged 29 or older went out; two 24-year-old building blocks and two draft picks came back. Warren's World remains a retool, but nobody can call the direction accidental now.
The new picks raise Wesley's 2027 collection from six selections to eight: his own first, second and third; Casey's first; Brittany's second; Jason's second; Keller's third; and Brandon's third. That is two firsts, three seconds and three thirds. Josh and Tommy are next with four each. Brandon has none. Wesley does not merely own the largest draft cabinet; he owns enough of the room to begin charging rent.
Jason paid for the older quarterback
Jason's half of Wesley's pivot remains the harder trade to flatter. Baker's Dozen received 31-year-old Jared Goff and sent away 24-year-old C.J. Stroud plus Jason's 2027 second. In a one-quarterback league, usable passers are easier to find and the weekly difference between them is compressed. Paying a meaningful pick to get older therefore requires a very specific belief that Goff will materially outscore Stroud now.
Jason still has a contender's supporting cast: Baker Mayfield at quarterback, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Nico Collins, DK Metcalf and Courtland Sutton at receiver, and Trey McBride at tight end. Goff can help that roster. Stroud could have helped it too, and the second-round pick never required a starting spot. The Ledger has inspected the receipt twice. Wesley's name remains on the better side of it.
The former king's superweapon is no longer pending
The Ja'Marr Chase blockbuster covered as pending in the September 2 Ledger completed September 3 without a change to the package. Casey received Chase and Chris Bell. Josh received DeVonta Smith, Marvin Harrison Jr., Tyler Allgeier and Casey's 2028 first. Rabbit Walrus now actually owns the lineup that was only conditional grammar one week ago: Justin Herbert, Bijan Robinson, Jahmyr Gibbs, Chase, Puka Nacua, Ladd McConkey, Travis Etienne and Tucker Kraft.
Josh's return remains substantial rather than ceremonial. Combined with the completed McCaffrey trade, Sugar Tits converted McCaffrey, Chase and Bell into Brian Thomas Jr., Smith, Harrison, Allgeier, Brandon's 2027 first and Casey's 2028 first. Casey bought the best player. Josh diversified two aging or concentrated stars into youth and two outside firsts. Both plans are coherent; only one of them looks like it arrived carrying a flamethrower.
Transaction status: three completed, zero hiding behind a vote label
Sleeper's transaction record currently shows the Chase deal, the Brown–Odunze deal and the Goff–Stroud deal as complete. It shows no accepted trade still inside the normal processing period. Failed waiver claims are also excluded from the completed ledger because wanting a player and acquiring one remain irritatingly different events.
The constitution has not changed with the app's vocabulary: five review votes do not automatically veto or stop a trade. They trigger League Leadership review for suspected collusion or extreme imbalance, competitive inconvenience is not grounds for review, and any involved leader recuses. Completed means processed. Pending means still processing. A button labeled veto is not a substitute for reading the constitution.
Waivers opened, and everyone remembered kickers exist
The September 4 run sent Calvin Ridley, Skyler Bell and Wil Lutz to Wesley; Jacob Saylors and Marlin Klein to Jason; Spencer Shrader to Keller; and Zavion Thomas to Casey. Wesley dropped Anthony Richardson, Isaiah Davis and the Giants defense in those moves. Keller dropped Daniel Carlson, who remained unemployed for five days and presumably used the time to think about what he had done.
Wednesday's claims brought Carlson to Casey for Harrison Mevis and Cedric Tillman for Jaylin Lane. Jason reclaimed Isaiah Bond after Wesley's brief custody; Keller added Seth McGowan; Tommy added Chris Brooks; and Wesley swapped Tennessee's defense for Chris Brazzell. Josh cleared Zach Ertz, Matt Prater and Zane Gonzalez without replacements. These are all completed moves. The waiver wire has produced no points, but it has already produced a kicker carousel and shared custody paperwork.
Week 1 injury news immediately edited the depth charts
The most useful update for the new superteam is that Ja'Marr Chase practiced Monday and is tracking to play without restrictions against Tampa Bay after the knee scare. The less useful update is that Casey's Isiah Pacheco begins the season on injured reserve with a back problem and no firm return date. Travis Etienne may cover some of that depth loss immediately: Alvin Kamara appears headed for a Week 1 inactive, leaving Etienne positioned for New Orleans' largest backfield workload against Detroit.
Wesley's newly acquired Rome Odunze had not practiced through Tuesday while managing a leg injury, even as Chicago remained hopeful for Week 1. His Breece Hall is trending toward playing after a groin injury. Keller's TreVeyon Henderson is in serious danger of missing the opener, which would push Brittany's Rhamondre Stevenson toward a near-workhorse role, while Keller's Jeremiyah Love may be eased in behind Tyler Allgeier. Apparently Josh did not merely acquire Allgeier; he acquired Week 1 leverage as a parting gift.
Other opening-week items worth the lineup check: Josh Jacobs remains unavailable on the commissioner's exempt list, Tank Dell begins the year on injured reserve, George Kittle is expected to return from his Achilles injury in a limited early role, and Michael Penix Jr. is not ready to start for Atlanta. The standings remain innocent for a few more hours
Sleeper shows every manager at 0-0 and every Week 1 matchup at 0.00. There are no results or standings developments to manufacture. The opening slate is Dustin versus Brandon, Wesley versus Brittany, Casey versus John, Tommy versus Josh, Keller versus Frank, and Jason versus Kevin. After an offseason spent trading away future draft classes, actual football has finally arrived to interrupt the accounting.
Extremely official opening-bell awards
The trades are complete, the waivers have cleared, and not one manager has scored a point. Brandon bought the present. Wesley bought nearly a quarter of the 2027 draft. Casey bought the league's loudest weapon. Tonight the receipts finally meet a scoreboard, which remains the only review process cruel enough for everybody.
